Bait The Hook. Catch The Fish.

Fishing can be an easy way to come up with something for the dinner table. It can also be a fun way to spend some time outside. Like many other things it can become as complicated as you’d like to make it, or stay as simple as you want it to be. All you really need is a fishing rig (rod, line and hook/bobber, for example), bait, and a fishing license. There’s no lack of knowledge about how to fish. Sometimes though the most important information to know can be a very well kept secret: where to fish. Just in case you need a little more info on how to fish some resources on that topic are below. Where to fish though? Talk to the locals in your area and you might get lucky. Local rivers and streams are a decent bet usually. Lakes and ponds open to the public are also usually a safe bet if they’re well stocked and not overfished. Well stocked privately owned lakes and ponds are golden – almost never too much fishing pressure. You can wear yourself out catching fish at one of these.

Check the internet for online fishing resources near you. What’s below is an example of what you might find.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPW) offers a good beginners page. Click here to go to this page:
